Honest answers about the estimate.
How accurate is an instant roof estimate?
Our satellite-measured estimate is typically within ±5–8% of an in-person measurement. It uses Google Solar's high-resolution aerial imagery to read your roof's surface area, pitch, and facet count. We sharpen it on the free 48-hour on-site inspection where we check decking condition, flashing, ventilation, and any insurance-claim scope.
Why is the estimate shown as a range?
Because honest pricing is a range. Your final price depends on decking condition (some Houston homes need 5–10% of decking replaced once we tear off), chimney and skylight flashing details, ventilation balance, and whether you're working with an insurance carrier. The high end of our range covers most homes; we confirm everything in writing after the inspection.
Why does Class 4 impact-rated cost more?
Class 4 shingles (GAF Armorshield, Owens Corning Duration STORM, Atlas StormMaster) use a reinforced mat that survives hail without granule loss. They cost roughly 30–40% more upfront, but most Texas homeowner-insurance carriers — including State Farm, Allstate, Farmers, Liberty Mutual, and USAA — discount premiums 10–30% on Class 4 roofs. For most Houston homes, the upgrade pays for itself in 3–5 years.
What if Google Solar doesn't have data for my address?
About 5% of US addresses fall outside Google Solar's high-res imagery — mostly rural areas, new construction, or unusual property layouts. Our calculator detects this automatically and switches you to manual entry: tell us your rough roof size, pitch, and complexity, and you'll still get a fast Houston-market estimate. Either way, we verify everything on-site.
Is the price binding?
No. This is a starting estimate based on satellite measurement and current Houston market pricing — it gives you a real, honest budget range so you know what to plan for. The final, written, line-item quote comes from your free 48-hour inspection. No surprises, no high-pressure pitch.
Do you finance roof replacements?
Yes — TPC offers GreenSky® Program financing up to $65,000 with promotional and deferred-interest plans. See https://www.texaspremiercontractors.com/financing for details, or mention financing when we call after your estimate.
