The insurance claim playbook — written by your roofer.
From the first free inspection to the moment your carrier releases depreciation, we manage every step of the storm claim so you don't have to guess what comes next.
Adjusters trust us. Homeowners stop worrying.
Houston gets hit hard. Class 1+ hailstorms, hurricane wind, micro-bursts — your roof will collect damage eventually, and what your insurance carrier covers depends almost entirely on how the claim is documented.
We've handled thousands of Texas storm claims since 2014 — alongside every major Texas carrier (State Farm, Allstate, Farmers, Texas Mutual, USAA, Liberty Mutual, Travelers, Nationwide, Progressive, Foremost, and the surplus markets). HAAG-trained inspectors document the damage in drone footage and decking-level detail. We meet your adjuster on-site so the scope is right the first time, and we file supplements when the carrier's estimate misses items (it happens often).
Your only job is to file the claim with your carrier and sign the final paperwork. We do everything in between — and we never start work that isn't approved.
Services built around the work.
Free 48-hour inspection
Storm or hail event in your ZIP? A HAAG-trained inspector is on your roof inside 48 hours documenting damage with drone footage, hand-held photos, and decking notes.
Drone & photo documentation
Every slope, valley, ridge, and penetration is photographed. We provide a written report you can share with your carrier — and keep on file for future claims.
Adjuster meeting on-site
We meet your insurance adjuster on the roof so nothing is missed. We bring our report; the adjuster brings theirs. Disagreements get resolved on-site, not in writing weeks later.
Supplements when needed
If the adjuster's estimate misses items (decking, drip edge, ice & water shield, code upgrades) we file a supplement with photos and code references. Most carriers approve within 7-14 days.
Manufacturer-certified install
GAF and Owens Corning certified, in-house crews. Most residential roofs are torn off, re-decked as needed, underlaid, shingled, and cleaned in 2–4 days.
Depreciation release
After final inspection, we send the carrier the paperwork they need to release recoverable depreciation (the difference between ACV and RCV). You get the second check — we get a 5-star review.
Why DIY claims cost Houston homeowners money.
Storm chasers don't stick around
Out-of-state contractors swarm Houston after major hail events and disappear by hurricane season. We've been local since 2014 — we'll be here when your supplement comes in three weeks later.
Most adjuster estimates miss scope
Decking replacement, code-required ice & water shield, drip edge, ridge venting, paint touch-up — adjusters routinely miss line items that experienced roofers catch on the first walk-through.
Texas code upgrades matter
If your existing roof predates current code (synthetic underlayment, hip & ridge reinforcement, ventilation calcs), the carrier owes the difference. We document and file those code upgrades for you.
Class 4 shingles unlock discounts
Most Texas carriers offer 10–35% discounts for Class 4 (UL 2218) impact-rated shingles. We help you select a system that qualifies and submit the manufacturer certification to your insurer.
We don't ask for a deposit
Most insurance roof replacements run on ACV pay (initial check from carrier) and RCV release (after install) — we work with that schedule. We never ask for upfront cash on a covered claim.
Real workmanship warranty
Manufacturer warranty + our 10-year workmanship warranty, both registered in your name. Transferable if you sell. Compare that to a storm-chaser who's already moved to Florida.
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Will filing a roof claim raise my homeowners insurance premium?
Texas insurance carriers generally do not increase individual premiums for one weather-related claim — rate increases are driven by overall regional loss ratios, not individual claims. However, multiple claims within 3 years can affect renewals. We help you decide whether the damage warrants a claim before you call your carrier.
What's the difference between ACV and RCV on my policy?
ACV (Actual Cash Value) is the depreciated value of your roof — what it's worth today after age and wear. RCV (Replacement Cost Value) is the full cost to replace it new. Most Texas policies pay ACV upfront, then release the remaining depreciation (RCV minus ACV) after we complete the work and submit final invoices. We manage both checks for you.
How long do I have to file a roof insurance claim in Texas?
Texas Insurance Code §542A.001 generally gives you 1 year from the date of loss to file, but most carriers want notice within 30-60 days of discovering damage. If a major hailstorm hit your ZIP and you haven't filed yet, call us — we can document the damage and help you file before your window closes.
What if my insurance adjuster denies the claim?
Denials are common and often appealable. If we documented clear hail or wind damage and the adjuster missed or denied it, we can file a supplement with photos, drone footage, and code references. If the carrier still won't budge, your next step is a Texas Department of Insurance complaint or a public adjuster — we'll point you to the right path.
Can I choose my own roofer or do I have to use the insurance company's?
You can absolutely choose your own roofer. Your carrier may suggest contractors from their Preferred Provider network, but in Texas you have the right to hire any licensed, insured roofer. The carrier pays the same amount either way.
Do you charge anything if my claim is denied?
No. The 48-hour inspection and adjuster meeting are free, and we don't charge anything until the work is approved by your carrier and you sign the agreement. If your claim is denied and you don't replace the roof, you owe us nothing.
What information do I need to file a claim?
Just your policy number and the date of loss. We provide everything else: damage report, photos, scope of work, and supporting code references. Most homeowners file the claim by phone in under 10 minutes after our inspection.
